In previous versions of WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus, only one input and output terminal was allowed on the custom primitive; now this has been relaxed to allow multiple terminals.

The TypeFilter can have multiple output terminals that route the message down different paths, depending on whether the message type defined in the tooling matches the type found at runtime.

If multiple message types are processed by the same mediation flow, you can use this new primitive to define XPath expressions to direct messages out different terminals.
