The iPad’s launch has been referred to as the most successful consumer-electronics launch ever (according to Bernstein Research analyst Colin McGranahan).
Analyst Colin McGranahan cut his second-quarter U.S. same-store sales estimate to a decline of 0.5% from a 1.5% increase and his profit estimate to 96 cents a share from 99 cents.
As noted by Bernstein Research analyst Colin McGranahan, consumers are adopting the iPad faster than any other consumer electronics device, including the iPhone and the near-ubiquitous DVD player.
