The relationship between hardness depth and magneticcoerciveforce was studied. Based on this relationship we develop a new type of electromagnetic nondestructive measurement instrument (DWY - 1).

The results show that the magnetic anisotropy of soft magnetic materials with very low coerciveforce can be measured successfully with ring specimen by the law of approach to saturation.
