The thermodynamics calculation also indicate the transformation of trace metal was different with different atmosphere, suboxidized and reduced species were more easily formed under reduced condition.
The thermodynamics, rheology, combustion of metallized gelled propellants(MGPs) are analysed. It is showed that the performance of MGPs is related to the amount and grain size of metal power added.
The authors suggest that this effect is due to the change in the strain rate of crack tip metal thus altering the thermodynamics of crack onset and growth.
