Better sediment control has reduced the risks of flooding with a network of small DAMS helping store water for towns and for agriculture when rainfall is low.

Participants were randomly assigned to either use green tea every day, as a beverage or capsule, or be part of "control" groups that took placebo capsules, drank a low-catechin tea or downed water.

Flood control requires the reservoir maintain low levels of water to allow for the inflow of flood waters, while power generation requires high levels of water in the reservoir.
