A method for rapid determination of volatile phenol in refinery wastewater has been developed based on the combination of 4amino antipyrine coloring principle with flow injection technique.

The chloroform solution of 4-Amino-antipyrine was used to measure the phenol in water by extraction and photometer. The method and the precision were discussed in this paper.
