The quasicontinuum method is a multiscale method which mixes continuum and atomistic approaches.

Moreover, the multiscale method was used to study the main, ultraharmonic and subharmonic resonances of nonlinear rolling in waves, and the approximate solutions of the three resonances were given.

The theoretical analysis and numerical experiments show that the multiscale finite element method presented in this paper is very effective to solve above these kinds of problems.
