In the 1813 Battle of Leipzig, also known as the Battle of Nations, Napoleon's army was defeated by a coalition that included Austrian, Prussian, Russian and Swedish troops.

Poles remained loyal to him until the bitter end, with Polish units holding their ground at his last battles (battle of Leipzig and battle of Waterloo).
