As all these new ways of "doing Jewish" reanimate young Americans' sense of belonging, the far-off country where they could in theory go may start to matter even less.
That is, because Israel is a Jewish state, some JewishAmericans might place a commitment to Israeli survival over the interests of the United States when the two are in conflict.
