The article presents a measurement method of intensity and position for LIA beams. By monitoring the image current on the inner pipe wall the beam intensity and position are obtained.

Two kinds of magnetic field distribution are discussed and the result show magnetizing current on interface can be replaced with discrete mirror image current for uniform, linear and isotropic medium.

How the whole image is then assembled and perceived is still a mystery although it is the subject of current research.
