Previous projects of ours had incorporated some incremental and iterative aspects of the RUP, but this project was our first effort at implementing the bulk of the RUP.

Many aspects of our discussions felt uncomfortable; for example, the notion of an iterative design without considering the longer term until required to do so.

It also requires an iterative process and a set of tools to help team members automate error-prone aspects of their work, freeing them to focus on creativity and value.
