JpGraph makes it easy to draw both "quick and dirty" graphs with a minimum of code and complex professional graphs, which requires a very fine grain control.
We also do not take for granted the optimization of code by design and we take it with a grain of salt every time somebody tells us how good JVMs are now at optimization and garbage collection.
The microstructure evolution models were implemented into the finite-element code, which allowed the prediction of distributions of grain size in the volume of the forging.
