With GMS-5 water vapour data during summer and autumn in 1995, moisture distribution and change in the upper-middle troposphere of tropical and subtropical belts are analyzed.

By using conventional meteorological data and the infrared and visible images of GMS-5 satellite, the floating dust weather from April 25 to May 4 in 1999 in Tarim Basin is analyzed.

A case study is processed to identify the fog using GMS 5 weather satellite IR images and get satisfied fog information.
