Our known fossil fuel reserves are soaring. New finds of coal, natural gas, oil, tar sands, and oil shale keep growing, not declining.

It takes up to four barrels of water to generate one barrel of tar-sands crude, and 20% of Canada's natural gas (a clean fuel) is used to produce oil (a dirty one).

The project takes pyrogenic dry distillation gas of soft coal in continuous retort as the fuel gas and produces ferroalloy coke and crude tar oil.
