Roller is one of the major process equipment for the flow forming. It has a significant effect to dimensional precision and apparent quality of the flow formed part.

Several common failure modes of roller for the flow forming were analyzed and studied in this paper. The reason of the roller failure was found out and the corresponding measures were set down.
