In this thesis, at first we will introduce the electromagnetic theory of optical planar waveguide, analyze the transmission characteristic of different modes and the connection loss of fiber.
The results of the simulation show that the method can overcome the singularity of open-ended waveguide method and can effectively predict the electromagnetic parameters of the materials.

In this paper, the expressions of the electromagnetic field components in a plasma waveguide immersed in a strong longitudinal magnetic field are derived in detail from the Maxwell's equations.
