Introduced are principle and method of applying Stoneley wave and the anisotropy of shear wave picked from the dipole shear wave image logging to evaluate the fracture effectivity of igneous rock.
The result shows that this method is easy, practical and can make an accurate prediction, thus providing a new approach for the prediction of formation fracture pressure from well logging curves.
