The physical character of soil was also improved after covering straw. The soil bulk density was reduced. Fieldmoisture capacity and porosity percentage were increased.

By the numerical simulation validation of moisture distribution and thermal field, it is indicated that the model in the thesis is feasible.

The HELP code was validated using data of field aerated moisture movement test by China Institute for RadiationProtection. The results show that simulation of HELP code is reasonable.
