Why this happens remains unclear, but one possible explanation is that the falling prices were caused by traders' tendency to exit risky positions when feeling strung up.

Then scale out again after prices move up further, and exit your entire position when you think the trend will reverse.

For example, if you enter a long trade and the prices continue to move up, then exit a portion, say 30%, of your position after prices reach a certain point.
