admonish sb. of the impending peril 就即将发生的危险警告某人

2. 轻责；告诫
The teacher admonished the boys for their carelessness (或 not to be so careless, 或 that they should not be so careless). 老师告诫学生们不要那么粗心。
A good student does not need to be admonished about being absent too much. 一个好学生是用不着别人来提醒他缺课太多的。
3. 力劝，忠告
The doctor admonished him against smoking. 医生力劝他不要吸烟。
