1. [表示可能、不确定等] 可能，也许
It might rain. 可能会下雨。
What you say might be true. 你说的话也许是真的。
2. [用在问句中，恳求许可，语气较 may¹ 更婉转、迟疑]可以
Might I go? 我可以去吗?
Might I make a suggestion? 我是不是可以提个建议?
Might I use your dictionary? 我可以用你的词典吗?
3. [用在表示目的或愿望等的从句中]能，会
I wrote down his telephone number, so that I might remember it. 我写下他的电话号码，以便能够记住它。
The prisoner had hopes that he might be set free. 这个囚犯抱有会被释放的希望。
4. [用在表示与事实相反情况的虚拟语气中]会，能
If he were older, he might understand. 要是他年龄大一些的话，他就可能懂了。
I might have fulfilled the work earlier. 我本可以早一些完成这件工作的。
You might have known she'd refuse. 你本来就该知道她会拒绝的。
5. [表示请求或婉转的责备]请；应该
