◇注解anybody, somebody 都有“要人”的意义，但前者时而含有怀疑或否定的意义，如： I doubt if he is anybody (我怀疑他是否是个重要人物)，而后者则为强烈的肯定语，尽管亦可能含有讽刺意味，如： Look at all those reporters talking to him — they must think he really is somebody (瞧那些同他谈话的记者们的德性—他们准以为他真的是位什么要人哩!)另外， somebody 作单数时，常与不定冠词连用，复数形式 somebodies 亦常见 phr. anybody's game (或 match, race) 〈主美〉(因参赛选手势均力敌而)输赢无法预测的比赛 anybody's guess 见 guess
